The American Dance Institute uses dance to train confident, articulate and intelligent young persons. By building the ability to learn, think and act in an athletically artistic environment our program yields both a talented dancer and a highly successful individual. The Institute's experienced faculty addresses the physical, intellectual and emotional elements of a student's being in an age-specific manner.
Pre-Ballet introduces the students ages 3-7 to ballet through work with movement patterns, ballet positions, body coordination and musical rhythms.
Preprofessional Ballet training begins at age 8 in Levels 1 - 3. At age 12, students begin to grow in multiple ways. The Institute examines where the student's dance interests are (classical or contemporary), how the student's body is developing, and what the student's goals are - a performance career, other arts career or other profession. In consultation with the student and parents, the student then either continues in the pre-professional ballet program or, where appropriate continue dance training in a less formal setting through the Institute's Dance for All classes.
Dance For All offers classes in ballet, modern and jazz. Students may enroll for 1-5 of these classes per week and maintain their interest in dance. The Institute requires placement by the faculty into classes best suited to an individual's training and goals. |
