The Arizona-Sonora Desert museum is a zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden, all in one spot. It is also a gallery, with changing exhibits and beautiful art. “Live and (sort of) On the Loose” is one of the exhibits here, with a staff member of the herpetology department offering a one-hour lesson about our desert's venomous reptiles. The Raptor Free Flight demonstration occurs in the open desert, showcasing the natural behavior of our native birds. The Coati Kid's Club offers classes on topics from geology to monsoons, and older kids can join the Junior Docent Program to receive training on native plants, animals and geology.
