Tucked into an industrial park on the city's west side, this converted warehouse is the largest indoor climbing gym in the Southeast. With more than 12,000 feet of climbing surface, the intown location (there is a smaller one in Doraville) accommodates big weekend crowds and weeknight regulars with a balanced mix of novice, intermediate and expert climbing routes. Fifty top rope stations--each has about three routes and is 24 feet tall--surround a thick bed of spongy gravel. Aside from the top ropes, there's also a 12-foot boulder, a cave feature and several more advanced lead-climbing routes. First-time climbers should take the intensive, two-hour introductory class--it teaches all the basics for $35 and qualifies the student to instruct others. Classes in technique and indoor lead climbing are also available, as are group climbs for parties and special functions. Climbing junkies can also sign up for a membership.
